Reactive Dog
From Reactive to Calm
Next class starting on April 12

A reactive dog exhibits a response, such as barking, lunging, and/or growling, when on the leash. Triggers can be other dogs, people, bikes, scooters, kids running, etco. These behaviors, although they may appear aggressive, are natural responses that may stem from underlying feelings of fear, anxiety, or frustration due to feeling threatened or overwhelmed. Managing this behavior involves recognizing specific triggers and employing techniques like creating physical distance from the stimulus and focussing on helping the dog calm down.

Our class is focussed on helping your dog calm down in an environment they struggle in. We start by focusing on behaviors to help your dog redirect their attention to you or away from the triggers.
What We Specialize In
What We Specialize In

Anxious, Fearful and/or Aggressive Dog
Dogs often react defensively when overwhelmed, cornered, or stressed, leading to anxiety, fear, or aggression. Our program is designed to help owners address these challenges by teaching them to identify and understand their dog's difficulties. We then establish a customized training and management plan focused on supporting the dog, building confidence and resilience, and managing situations that trigger their anxiety, fear, and/or aggression.

Because of the specific challenges addressed, this program is structured for individual attention tailored to each dog's unique needs, rather than a group class setting.
